Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and there are lots of ways to help.
Join us at our Book Sorting Days.
Thursdays and Saturdays 10:00 till 1:00 at our warehouse, at the back of 1 Arco Lane, Heatherton. No experience necessary. It’s a fun way to help.
Here is a great opportunity to involve your children in a family-friendly activity.
Whether it’s sorting books, making up cartons, moving stock, breaking down old boxes, etc there is a job for everyone.
Book Collectors
If sorting books is not for you, we have a growing number of donation bins that need to be regularly emptied and the books returned to our warehouse. Do you have a spare couple of hours a week and enjoy going for a drive?
Deliver books
Be the Hero
Just as we need book collectors, we also need book deliverers.
- Can you go around and refill our Free Book Boxes situated in key sites around the suburbs? Do you have a spare couple of hours a week and enjoy going for a drive?
- Are you a ‘Grey Nomad’ who could take some boxes of books with you to interstate, regional, rural or remote communities as you travel?
Help us raise funds
Your tax-deductible donation is an investment in 123Read2Me Ltd and will help us to get more books to these children which will help them to break the cycle of poverty - one book at a time.
Reading Aloud to kids
The power of reading aloud to children, at any age, cannot be overstated. The simple task of regularly reading aloud causes the necessary neural networks for form creating the path to literacy and success in school to build a better life. So pick up a book today and read aloud to your kids or grandkids, or someone-else’s!
